Salsa, Spanish for sauce, is a fusion of informal dance styles having roots in the US, Cuba and Puerto Rico. Danced to music with Afro-Cuban rhythms, Salsa dancing is fun, flirtatious and sensuous. Salsa dacing incorporates solo steps, body movement & body isolations, spins, and even hand styling, for both men and women.
Our L.A. style of Salsa dancing is danced on the "1-beat", in a slot. It is influenced by Hollywood and by the Cha-Cha & Mambo dances. L.A. style introduces fast, turning patterns and intricate dance positions and develops improvisation and social dancing skills.
Argentine Tango has been an evolving dance and musical form and is based heavily on improvisation. While there are patterns or sequences of steps, every movement is led not only in direction but also in speed and quality.
In Argentine Tango, a close embrace is often associated with the more traditional styles, where the dancers' chests are closer to each other than are their hips. Tango dancers feel the music and dance with passion in their hearts.
