Summer Showcase 2007 - A smashing success! If you haven't had the good fortune to see a studio Showcase, you really are missing out. It's a wonderful chance to see your friends and professional instructors perform for YOU! We had almost 30 routines for this showcase and we saw newcomers to advanced dancers as well as some great new additions with Junior competitors, jazz solos and flamenco dancers.

BLACKPOOL DANCE FESTIVAL 2007:

May 25th -June 10th in England, France, Spain.
The Blackpool Dance Festival in England is the largest and arguably the most pretigious dance competition in the world. One division alone will start with upwards of 250 couples and will take 7 rounds of elimination to decide the champion. A grueling event for the competitors - a spectacular event for the spectators.

This years winners are: Standard Champions - Mirko Gozzoli and Alessia Betti, whom we met and took photos with (Click photo to enlarge). And, Latin Champions - Bryan Watson and Carmen. It was a very emotional night for Bryan and Carmen as they won this Championship for a record 7th time and then announced their retirement. They concluded the evening with a honor dance in Rumba.

Our trip started in London for 3 days and then to Blackpool, England for 4 days of competition. We went sightseeing in Paris for 4 days and Madird for 4 more days. We saw the "Changing of the Guards" at Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the Tower Bridge, Notre Dame, the Louvre and Eiffel Tower, the Prado Musuem, a Bullfight and a Flamenco performance. It was an exciting 15 days and we plan to go again next year.

The Friday Theme Parties in June 2007 were great. Thanks to those who dressed up for the occassion. The Hawaiian Luau was especially fun. We invited Kara Cruz, a professional Hawaiian dancer to give a brief lesson and Tahitian exhibition, that was great.

EMERALD BALL 2007:

May 3-7, 2007 at the LAX, Hilton Hotel.
This was a fantastic dance competition. The Emerald Ball is the place to go if you really want to challenge yourself. There are beginning to advanced levels of dance competition. Several of our students went to this competition and performed quite well. View some of the online photos to see them at this year's Emerald Ball 2007.
